SDCC 2017: Best Cosplay Part 4

* Luke Skywalker from The Force Awakens - This was a popular costume and this one blew the rest of them out of the water. The robotic hand alone is crazy well crafted.

* Tiny Negan - The most adorable homicidal maniac you'll ever see.

* Brave Little Toaster - This cosplay is not only incredibly obscure, but accurate in almost every detail. He told me the appliances were made out of foam. It looksl like it all stepped out of the cartoon.

* Creepy clowns - I know the one on the left is from Killer Klowns from Outer Space, but I'm not sure about the one on the right. Either way, they're successfully creepy.

* Gamora, Starlord, and Baby Groot - There were a lot of Peter Quills at the con, but this one left the others behind with the props. Gamora had the best makeup of any other and the itty bitty Baby Groot was adorable!

SDCC 2017: Best Cosplay Part 3

More of the best cosplay I saw this past SDCC!

* Puppet Ash from Ash vs. Evil Dead - This puppet is one of my favorite parts of the most recent season of the show. It was completed created by this man complete with chainsaw arm and magnetic pupils to change the eye color.

* The Flash and Deadpool plus bonus creepy clown - This clown ventured into my photo randomly and made for a memorable moment.

* Game of Thrones ensemble - This group has impressive costumes with attention to detail. They seem like they walked right out of Westeros and it's one of the largest ensemble cosplays I've seen.

* Scar and Maleficent/Star Wars - This maship works surprisingly well and the little details and excellent quality make this cosplay shine. I especially liked the plush Simba attached to Scar's belt.

SDCC 2017: Best Cosplay Part 2

* Stone Age Lumpy Space Princess and Finn from Adventure Time - Crazy inventive, dynamic, and the right attitude.

* Batgirl and "Batman" - Both costumes are spot on and anything can be done with Deadpool and feels true to the character.

* Turnip Head from Howl's Moving Castle with bonus No Face from Spirited Away in the background - Miyazaki's movies are amazing and it's almost like they came to life with these equally amazing cosplays.

* Bucky and Frozen Captain America - A fun, unexpected costume with just enough Monty Python humor.

SDCC 2017 and Best Cosplay Part 1

It's that time of year again! SDCC 2017 was 2 weeks ago. I returned home early due to a family emergency, but I had a blast for the two days I was there. Here are some of the best cosplay I saw:

* Sailor Freddie Mercury - The very first costume I saw and the best mashup

* Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg from The Fifth Element - This guy had everything from the mannerisms to the voice to the facial expressions, not just the look!

* Old Link - This costume had so much crazy detail from the aged makeup to the chainmail to the potions carried around. Very impressive.

* Riri Williams - This fun, vibrant cosplay makes me want to read the new Iron Man comics.

SDCC 2016: I'm Back and Best Cosplay Part 1

This year is my triumphant return to San Diego Comic Con! I haven't attended for three years, due to either not getting tickets or lack of funds. This year was AMAZING and I hope you won't get too tired of my posts about it. I only had tickets for Thursday and Sunday, but I got to see everything that I really wanted PLUS I went to Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and the San Diego Safari Park (which I might do a separate post on). I'd like to start with some of my favorite cosplays that I saw during the convention.

Best Cosplay Part 2

More of the best costumes at the Con!

* Jaime and Cersei Lannister - I especially liked the detail in Jaime's armor.

* That big red T-Rex with the little arms - This costume made me smile like a maniac. Just adorable.

* Awesome ensemble Mass Effect cosplay

* Lum! This was one of the first mangas I read. Apparently it's not well known even thought it's by Rumiko Takahashi, but I totally nerded out and had to get a picture of her costume.

* Communist Superman - I had no idea until today that there are actual comics (called Red Son) of this character where Superman landed in and was raised in the Soviet Union. Very cool costume of a unique facet of the character.

* Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade ensemble - I saw them last year with an Elsa, but the costumes are still amazing and crazy accurate.

SDCC 2013!!! + Best Cosplays (Part 1)

It's that time of year again! San Diego Comic Con 2013 was just a couple of weeks ago! I look forward to it all year. It's a great amalgamation of a lot of very different things that I like. This was the very first year I got to go all 4 days with preview night and it was a very cool experience with one bad occurrence. Despite the bad things, the camaraderie of nerds and the unforgettable experiences outshine those things.

So, to start this series, here are my very favorite cosplays of this year.

* Genderbent Powerpuff Girls and Him

* modern and stylish interpretation of Ursula.

* Rufio! Rufio! Ru---fi----ooooooooooooo!!

* Sharknado! I never thought I would see it as a costume!

* Edward Scissorhands! This guy stayed in character for everyone that came up to him. He had the mannerisms and expression down pat, plus the costume is amazing.

* Bane. This was another guy that stayed in character. He had the voice and the mannerisms very accurate. This type of cosplayer makes me feel like I'm meeting the character rather than just a person dressed as them. It just makes the experience a little more special.

SDCC 2012: Awesome Costume Sightings Part 2

More costumes sighted in San Diego!!

Superhero Disney Princesses - I would say this is the greatest ensemble cosplay I saw. Each costume was so inventive and fun. My favorite is Belle's book hammer. So awesome! (This photo was from their Facebook. I was standing way to the left side and my pictures were all unprepared and lame.)

Predator that killed the Avengers - This is a unique, detailed costume with Iron Man and War Machine heads strapped to his waist and Captain America's shield strapped to his back as trophies of his kills.

Zombie Activist - There were a lot of zombies due to the zombie walk and just the fact that zombies are awesome, but this was the best one I saw.

My Little Pony ensemble - There were a lot of MLP cosplayers and this was the only group with a cohesive style and a Celestia!

Carmen Sandiego!!

Russell from Up

Nyan Cat - I saw this adorable kid all over SDCC. Kudos to her mom who held her rainbow all over the place and probably made the costume.
